Thank you for visiting my website! I am Jesenya Lowman, a Modern Languages Japanese Major and Psychology Minor. This website will serve as a documentation of my growth in language proficiency, cultural competence, and overall personal development. I grew up in a diverse community in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. The neighbors and friends I grew up with came from Nigeria, Mexico, Colombia, and Japan to name a few! As my neighbors and family friends became a significant part of my life and development, I started to grasp the importance of engaging with different cultures and their communities. I truly believe I have a passion for other people and understanding their backgrounds, and my enthusiasm has only grown since then. I hope to deepen my engagement with the world through working in translating and interpreting-related roles.
